Whittier releases 2012 cross country schedule

2012 Cross Country Schedule

WHITTIER, Calif. – The Whittier College cross country team will participate in three invitationals and complete their regular season with the SCIAC multi-dual meet and SCIAC Championships as head coach Greg Phillips officially released the Poets' 2012 season schedule.

WC will open up their season September 1 in Brea, Calif., as they run in the CSU Fullerton Invitational taking place at Carbon Canyon Regional Park after returning from a weeklong training camp in Mammoth Lakes, Calif., which is set to take place from August 26-30. 

The purple and gold will then travel to the UCR Agricultural Center on September 15 to take part in the UC Riverside Invitational before returning two weeks later to take part in their last invitational of the season during the Pomona-Pitzer Invite on September 29. 

SCIAC Multi-Duals will take place at La Mirada Regional Park on October 12 and the SCIAC Championships will then occur October 27 at Prado Regional Park.

Then in November the Poets will have the opportunity to race in the NCAA West Regional taking place in Salem, OR on the 10th before wrapping up their season on December 1 as they take part in a community outreach program called "The Great Race" set to take place at Whittier College.
