Partida Finishes 18th at West Regionals, Earns All-Region Honors

Darlene Partida '10 earned All-West Region honors with an 18th place finish as the Whittier College women's cross country team finished 13th at the NCAA West Regionals hosted by Lewis and Clark College on November 10.

Partida finished with a time of 22:58.70 on the 6,000-meter course; a personal best.  The top 35 runners are named to the All-West Region team.  She was one of seven SCIAC runners to earn the distinction.  The Poets finished with 386 team points; Willamette won the team title with 43 points.

Thomas Martinez '11 was the top finisher for the men in 74th place with a time of 27:49 on the 8,000-meter course.  The Poets had only four runners competing in the race, which did not qualify them in the team scores.
