Women's Cross Country Takes Part in UC Riverside Invite

The Whittier College Women's Cross Country team sent five runners to the UC Riverside Invitational on September 27.  The Poets finished 20^th out of 34 teams in the event which included Division I, II, III and NAIA competition.

Leading the way for the Poets was Michele Callaway '12.  She finished in 105^th place out of 336 runners with a time of 19:21.8 on the 5K course.  Darlene Partida '10 was next in 122^nd with a time of 19:36.8.  Candace Wray '12 was three spots behind her in 19:38.9.  Molly Litherland '12 was 143^rd with a time of 19:49.2 and Anna Edwards '12 rounded out the Poet scoring in 199^th, crossing the finish line in 20:31.3.  The Poets finished with 538 team points, eleven behind SCIAC rival Cal Lutheran who finished 19^th.

The Poets hit the road for their next competition, the Cowboy/Cowgirl Jamboree at Oklahoma State University on October 4.  The competition starts at 8:00am.
