Michele Callaway '12 is headed to the NCAA Championships after a
fourth place finish at the NCAA Division III West Regional
Championships in Salem, Ore., on November 15. The women
finished eighth overall out of sixteen teams and finished ahead of
SCIAC rivals Redlands (9th), Occidental
(11th), Cal Lutheran (13th) and Caltech

with a time of 22:02.39. There was only one SCIAC competitor
in the 113-runner field to finish ahead of Callaway. She and

time of 23:44.81 to take 47th for the Poets. Molly

the Poets top five was Eva Aguilar '12 in 24:19.07. The Poets
finished with 206 team points; Claremont-Mudd-Scripps won the West
Region with 88 points.
For the men, Yuki Miyagiwa '09 ended his Whittier College career
with a personal best time of 28:42.80 on the 8,000-meter

squad. The SCIAC was represented well in the men's West
Region, with Claremont qualifying for the NCAA Championships in
second place. Occidental and Pomona finished fourth and
fifth, respectively, with their top runners qualifying for
nationals.
Callaway will travel to Hanover College in Indiana for the NCAA
Division III Championships on November 22.
