Whittier remains at No. 10 in the West Region

NEW ORLEANS - The Whittier College women's cross country team remained at No. 10 in the West Region this week as the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association released its weekly rankings. For the second-straight week Whitworth is the top ranked team in the West.
The Poets competed this past weekend at the Sundodger Invitational hosted by the University of Washington and finished ninth out of 18 teams.
Michele Callaway led the charge with a 30th place finish out of the field of over 200 runners. She ran a 23:02.02 and was the fifth Division III entry to finish the 6K race.
Molly Litherland and Candace Wray completed the race less than four seconds apart. Litherland clocked in at 23:52.90, good enough for 62nd-place, and Wray finished in 23:56.57 in 66th-place.
The biggest change in the West Region Top 10 came from Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference rival, Occidental. The Tigers fell from No. 4 to No. 7.
The other SCIAC schools ranked are Claremont-M-S (No. 3) and Pomona-Pitzer (No. 8).
