WHITTIER, Calif. - The Whittier College football team has announced its captains for the upcoming 2019 season. The four captains include junior defensive back Oscar Aliaga (Las Vegas, NV), junior wide receiver Moises Gonzalez (Long Beach, Calif.), senior defensive back Sean Hamilton (Henderson, NV), and senior offensive lineman Kaelin Washington (Imperial Beach, Calif.)

"I'm excited about the young men that were selected by their teammates to serve as captains for this upcoming year.  We had a tremendous group of candidates, and these four men exemplify what Whittier Football is all about," explained Head Coach Mike Neale.  "They set a great example, care about others, and are committed to reaching their full potential as people, students, and athletes.  They have demonstrated leadership in the classroom, in the community, in the locker room, weight room, on the field, and are important influencers for our team.  I thought our team did a great job of selecting student athletes that have a very high level of commitment to our program, and will serve as outstanding captains for the 2019 season."

Whittier jumpstarts their season at home on Saturday, September 7 when they host Luther College.
