DALLAS, TX – The Whittier college Men's Lacrosse team got their trip to Texas underway Friday with a lopsided win over Hendrix College 13-3.
It was a complete team effort with goals coming from ten different players. Conner Sexton (San Jose, Calif.) led the offense with three goals and two assists. Billy Shaffer (Tucson, AZ) joined him on the offensive end with two goals and added three groundballs.
Kevin O'Donnell (Carlsbad, Calif.) was on faceoffs and finished winning 7-12. He also picked up six groundballs and added two caused turnovers.
Max Thiele (San Diego, Calif.) led the defense with five caused turnovers and four groundballs, while Ryan Crawford (San Clemente, Calif.) and Max Lepley (San Clemente, Calif.) totaled four CT's each and a combined eight groundballs.
Alex Cramer (Rocky Hills, CT) picked up the win and finished with four saves and three groundballs in limited action.
Whittier was 30-36 on clear attempts and held their opponent to 18-31 (58%). They finished with 56 shots for the game, added 43 groundballs and was strong defensively with 21 caused turnovers.
