WHITTIER, Calif. – The 2018 All-Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Men's Soccer teams were announced Wednesday following a vote conducted by the league's member head coaches.
Representing Whittier College on the All-SCIAC teams was sophomore midfielder Parker McDonald (Corona, Calif.) who was named to the 2nd Team for the first time in his career. McDonald started all 16 games and was one of the Poet captains. He totaled two goals, while taking 11 shots with four being on goal for a .364 shot on goal percentage. But where he stood out was on the defensive end where he helped lead the Poets' defensive unit holding opponents to a 1.56 goals against average and a .117 shot percentage.
Whittier wrapped up the season 6-10, 5-9 SCIAC and finished in a tie for 6th in the final SCIAC Standings. They totaled 21 goals on the season averaging 1.31 goals per game with a 16.9 shots per game average. Their final four games went into overtime and 11 of their 16 games were decided by a goal.
