WHITTIER, Calif. – The Whittier College Men's Swimming & Diving team saw their Senior Day spoiled Saturday as the University of Redlands pulled off the 145-89 victory at the Lillian Slade Aquatic Center.

Prior to the meet, Head Coach Tasman Backer recognized her three seniors, Julian Droetti (Irvine, Calif.), Gabriel Forbes (Upland, Calif.), and Marko Miocic (Great Neck, NY). 

The 400 Medley Relay team of Michael Laws (Anacortes, WA), Brandon Tran (Plainfield, Ill.), Miocic, and Aidan Tol (Tustin, Calif.) got things started taking 1st with a time of 3:34.74.  In the distance, freshman William Arnsparger (Long Beach, Calif.) finished 3rd in the 1000 Free posting a mark of 10:40.71, while Sam Sutherland (Wahiawa, HI) took top honors in the 200 Free with a time of 1:45.26. 

Miocic came up big in the 50 Free winning the event with a 21.45, while Laws took 4th with a 22.65.  Tran posted a 2nd place finish in the 200 IM (1:59.89) with Dominic Baldwin (Lafayette, Calif.) taking 4th (2:05.91).  Baldwin then came back in the 200 Fly finishing 3rd (2:04.62), while Sutherland and Tol went 1-2 in the 100 Free with marks of 46.84 and 48.03, each respectively.

Colin-James Fellezs (Mililani, HI) got into the scoring category with a 3rd place finish in the 200 Back with a 2:05.57.  Arnsparger and Anthony Carazo (Chino Hills, Calif.) went 4-5 in the 500 Free, while Tran took 1st in the 200 Breast (2:11.66).  In the final event on the day, Sutherland, Laws, Tol, and Miocic would take 1st in the 200 Free Relay with a time of 1:25.88.          

Whittier rounds out their regular season schedule this Saturday, February 4 as they travel to take on Occidental College beginning at 11:00am.
