COMMERCE, Calif. – The Whittier College Men's Swimming & Diving team currently sits in 7th place following Day 1 of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Championships with 74 points.

Whittier missed out on points by not having any divers but made up for it in the swimming events during the nightcap.

The Purple & Gold had a strong contingent of teams that performed well.  Michael Laws (Anacortes, WA), Brandon Tran (Plainfield, Ill.), Marko Miocic (Great Neck, NY), and Aidan Tol (Tustin, Calif.) got the first points of the evening finishing 7th during the Finals of the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 1:33.97.  Then in the 800 Free, Sam Sutherland (Wahaiwa, HI), William Arnsparger (Long Beach, Calif.), Colin-James Fellezs (Milillani, HI), and Tol would come up some more points as they took 8th with a time of 7:07.32.

On Day 2 tomorrow, events include the Women's 3-Meter Prelims, the Men's 3-Meter Final, the 500 Free, 200 IM, 50 Free, 200 Free, and a few Time Trials.
