WHITTIER, Calif. – The NCAA Division III Statistical Champions were announced Monday for softball and Whittier College saw former catcher Brittany Attaway (Claremont, Calif.) lead the entire country in walks per game.
Attaway again adds to her already impressive resume leading the country in a statistical category for the first time in her career. She led the Purple & Gold to a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Tournament Title and a berth into the National Championships. She was named 1st Team All-SCIAC and was selected onto the SCIAC All-Tournament Team and the Division III Sectional All-Tournament Team.
She was a batter nobody wanted to face as she collected 43 walks, while batting .354 with 40 hits (9 Homeruns, 7 Doubles, 1 Triple). She also totaled 41 RBI's and scored 48 times, while finishing second on the team with 19 stolen bases. She had a .543 OBP and slugged .673, while adding 76 total bases.
