NEW ORLEANS - The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has announced its All-Region honorees for the 2018 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field season.

The Whittier College Track & Field teams saw six Poets earn recognition led by senior Julissa Tobias (Norwalk, Calif.) who landed on the All-West Region team in both the 5000m and 10000m.  Jessica Iribe (Cypress, Calif.) was the other female Poet to earn accolades also within the 10000m.

On the men's side, four Poets received recognition including distance runners Julian Sandoval (El Monte, Calif.) (10000m) and Benjamin White (Whittier, Calif.) (10000m).  They were joined by Garrett Silva (Whittier, Calif.) (Pole Vault) and Hakim Williams Jr. (Riverside, Calif.) (110m Hurdles).

The top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region distinction, in addition to each of the members of the region's top-3 relay teams. The regions used for this award – Atlantic, Central, Great Lakes, Mideast, Midwest, New England, South/Southeast, West – match those used during the cross country and indoor track & field season.

On the men's side, a total of 743 athletes from 192 programs earned 948 All-Region honors.  On the women's side, a total of 667 athletes from 184 programs earned 940 All-Region honors.
