GENEVA, Ohio – The three Whittier College Track & Field Athletes are prepped for the Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which begin today, Thursday, May 23 at the SPIRE Institute on the campus of the University of Mount Union.
Sophomore Elyse Espe (Wishon, Calif.) will get things started for the Purple & Gold this afternoon in the 400m Hurdles. She currently ranks No. 15 in the National Rankings and will see her prelims get started at 4:25 PM EST.
Senior Anahy Covarrubias (Los Angeles, Calif.) begins her quest for a National Championship title tomorrow, Friday, May 24 when she takes part in the 800m Prelims beginning at 4:00 PM EST. She currently ranks No. 18 Nationally.
Sophomore Garrett Silva (Whittier, Calif.) wraps up the Outdoor Championships on Saturday, May 25 when he takes part in the Pole Vault beginning at 12:00 PM EST. He currently ranks No. 16 Nationally.
If Espe and Covarrubias are able to get through the prelims and into the finals they would compete on Saturday, May 25. Both events go back to back with the 800m starting at 1:50 PM EST and the 400m Hurdles at 2:15 PM EST.
