WHITTIER, Calif. – Junior center Monica Hanna (Bellflower, Calif.) has been named 2nd Team All-SCIAC announced by the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) office Thursday.

Hanna was in a battle for 1st Team accolades but unfortunately did not get the nod forcing her onto the 2nd Team for the first time in her career.  She joined the Whittier College Women's Basketball team midway through the season and finished averaging 11.3 points per game within SCIAC play and 8.9 rebounds per game.  She totaled 136 points and 107 rebounds in 12 games.  She also added 13 blocks, six assists and five steals, while shooting 43% from the field.

In SCIAC she ranked No. 3 in rebounds per game, No. 10 in total rebounds, No. 14 in points per game, No. 7 in blocks, and No. 16 in field goal percentage.

Her best single-game performance came on February 3 against the University of La Verne where she poured in a double double of 23 points and 16 rebounds, while shooting 50% from the field and 88% from the free throw line.
