Division III Women's Golf National Polls

WHITTIER, Calif. – The Division III National Polls for Women's Golf were announced Wednesday by Golfstat and the Whittier College Women's Golf team saw themselves come in at No. 28, the second highest ranking among Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) schools.

The Purple & Gold had a great Fall season playing four rounds in the CA State Intercollegiate (314-310) and CMS Invite (322-312).  In the CA Intercollegiate the Poets finished 4th overall before taking home 2nd place recognition in the CMS Invite.

Last year the Poets earned a ranking as high as No. 19 at one point, the highest ever in program history before finishing the year at No. 34. 

At the CA Intercollegiate the Poets beat out some big names including Division II Arizona Christian, Ottawa University (AZ), NAIA Marymount University, and SCIAC rival Pomona-Pitzer.

At the CMS Invite, they were able to edge Occidental College and Pomona-Pitzer. 

Other SCIAC schools that are represented within the Top 100 include:

Claremont-M-S (No. 8), Whittier (No. 28), Chapman (No. 29), Pomona-Pitzer (No. 35), Cal Lutheran (No. 42), Redlands (No. 45), and Occidental (No. 50).     

The Poets begin their Spring schedule on February 4 when they take part in a tri-match with Chapman and Pomona-Pitzer at Los Serranos Golf Club.
