2018 Women's Golf All-SCIAC Teams

WHITTIER, Calif. – The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) teams for Women's Golf were released Friday morning by the conference office.

For the second straight year both senior Kajal Vitha (Whittier, Calif.) and sophomore Taylor Beckwith (Turlock, Calif.) have made their way onto the teams.  Vitha earns recognition on the 1st Team for the first time in her career and Beckwith finds herself on the 2nd Team for the second consecutive season.

Vitha was steady in conference play all season posting an 80-80 at SCIAC No. 1, which placed her 10th overall.  She then returned in SCIAC No. 2 shooting a 76-80, which put her 8th in the field.  But she kept the best for last completing the three-day SCIAC Championships with a 79-74-80 that put her 8th in the final standings helping lead the Purple & Gold to a 3rd place finish.

Beckwith, continues to hold strong to the No. 2 slot in the Poets depth chart.  At SCIAC No. 1 she went 79-84 for 15th.  She followed that up with a 77-83 at SCIAC No. 2, which was good enough for 13th and then like Vitha played her best golf at the SCIAC Championships finishing with an 80-78-78 that placed her 12th overall. 

In the Division III National Rankings, Vitha sits at No. 63 with a 79.68 average going 7-6 against players Ranked between 51-100 and Beckwith comes in at No. 79 with a 79.90 average.
