HOUSTON, TX – After four tough rounds at Bay Oaks Country Club junior Taylor Beckwith (Turlock, Calif.) has wrapped up her trip to the NCAA Division III National Championships Friday finishing 22nd overall totaling a 311.
She is the first women's golfer in program history to qualify for the National Championships and she made her presence felt over the four-days as the 17th Ranked golfer in the country.
On the final day she posted a 79 without a birdie as she dropped six spots into 22nd. She was +23 for the Championships and went 73-80-79-79.
No. 3 New York University won the team title with a 1217 (311-302-310-294). They edged out No. 6 Williams College who finished at 1222 (309-306-300-307). No. 4 Cordelia Chan from Williams College won the Individual Title with a 296 (75-75-74-72). She beat out No. 37 Arshia Mahant by a stroke who finished at a 297 (82-71-75-69) and No. 9 Emily Salamy from Rhodes College who posted a 298 (74-75-74-75).
Out of the 12 players who competed from the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC), Beckwith finished with the sixth lowest total. She also posted the fourth best finish out of the individuals who competed.
