LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The Whittier College Women's Lacrosse team faced a tough test with Occidental College Saturday as they were held to just one goal on the morning as they fell 22-1.

Whittier has now extended their losing skid to seven games as they drop to 1-7, 0-5 SCIAC.

Occidental added the first nine goals of the game before Whittier was able to get on the scoreboard and stop the bleeding.  The lone goal came at the 3:16 mark from Jess Hansen (Seal Beach, Calif.) who was fed from Neely O'Grady (Lorton, VA).

The Purple & Gold trailed 10-1 at the break and saw it get worse in the second as they were shutout 12-0 as they fell in their most lopsided contest on the season.

Madison Topping (El Dorado Hills, Calif.) totaled five saves in the loss, while facing 15 shots.  The Poets were outshot 42-2 and picked up just six draw controls with 13 groundballs.

Whittier opens up a five game home stand stretching from March 25-April 12.  They begin with North Central (Ill.) on Saturday, March 25 beginning at 11:00am.
