LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The Whittier College Women's Lacrosse team ended their 2019 season Saturday with a lopsided 25-5 loss to Occidental College.

The Purple & Gold end the season on an eight game losing skid and a 3-14, 0-10 SCIAC record.

Oxy scored the first 12 goals in just 13 minutes before Whittier got on the scoreboard from Emily Olague (San Ramon, Calif.) at the 16:01 mark.  Ilah Hardersen (Buckley, WA) added the second goal for Whittier seven minutes later but they still saw themselves trailing 17-2 at the half.

Out of the half Lexie Meanor (Sewickley, PA) got herself in the scoring category with an unassisted tally three minutes in and was followed by Emily Hansen (Seal Beach, Calif.) and Gabby Boller (Howell, NJ).  But this would be the only offense generated by the Purple & Gold who fell 25-5.

Meanor on the game also added a pair of groundballs, eight draw controls and a caused turnover.  Boller finished with a goal and an assist along with two draws and Hardersen posted a goal, two pick-ups and two draws.

Whittier was outshot 38-9 on the game, picked up 14 groundballs, was 5-for-10 on clear attempts and won 15 draw controls.

Madison Topping (El Dorado Hills, Calif.) played all 60:00 minutes in goal and finished with eight saves against 33 shots.  She also added five groundballs and a caused turnover.
