    Rebecca Slattery of the Whittier College volleyball team was named to the 2015 American Volleyball Coaches Association Division III All-West Region Team on Thursday. This is Slattery’s first All-Region award as she was named Honorable Mention.
  • Rebecca Slattery named 1st Team All-SCIAC; Chris Duarte-McDermott named SCIAC Coach of the Year

    Announced today by the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) office, Whittier College landed junior Rebecca Slattery (Los Altos, Calif.) on the 2015 women’s volleyball All-SCIAC Teams, while Head Coach Chris Duarte-McDermott and his staff were named the SCIAC Coaching Staff of the Year.

    After seeing themselves earn the program’s second playoff berth, the Whittier College Volleyball team found themselves exiting the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Post Season Tournament following a straight sets loss 25-23, 25-13, 25-21 to the top seeded Regals of Cal Lutheran University.

    The 2015 Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) women’s volleyball season was one of the most exciting in recent years with a three-way tie for first place entering the final week of action. At the conclusion of regular season competition, the Cal Lutheran and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps teams sat tied atop the standings to share the conference crown. By virtue of winning the tiebreaker, CLU earned the right to host the SCIAC Postseason Women’s Volleyball Tournament for the sixth straight season beginning on Thursday, Nov. 5 and continuing on Saturday, Nov. 7.
