Women's Water Polo All-SCIAC Teams

WHITTIER, Calif. – The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) released the All-SCIAC teams for Women's Water Polo Wednesday.

Whittier saw juniors Anastacia Gonzalez (Montebello, Calif.) and Lindsay Shoaff (Costa Mesa, Calif.) earn recognition, Gonzalez on the 1st Team and Shoaff on the 2nd Team.  Senior Leimana Hassett (Lahaina, HI) also received accolades being named to the SCIAC All-Sportsmanship Team. 

Gonzalez and Shoaff provided a dual threat on offense.  They both ranked No. 9 and No. 10 respectively in the SCIAC Rankings in scoring.  Gonzalez totaled 37 goals and six assists, while shooting .435 on the season.  She also added eight drawn exclusions sand 35 steals.  This marks the second straight year Gonzalez has earned All-SCIAC recognition being named to the 2nd Team last year in 2017. 

Shoaff led the team in scoring with 39 goals and seven assists.  She also registered two drawn exclusions and 23 steals.  She also ranked No. 7 in SCIAC in goals per game at 1.63 and earns this recognition for the first time in her career. 

Hassett played a dual role this season playing both as an attacker and a goalie late in the season.  On the year she added two goals and two assists with six steals.
