BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) announced their selection of the organization's 2019 Women's Division III All-America Team.

Whittier College saw two land on it for the first time with Sawyer Bellville (Chino, Calif.) being named to the 1st Team and freshman Teresa Marchetti (Messina, Italy) to the 2nd Team.

Bellville in just her first season after transferring in from University of Southern California made a huge impact totaling 67 Points (47 Goals | 20 Assists).  She added a .420 shot percentage with 30 steals and winning 19 sprints.  Over her last five games she averaged 4.4 goals per game, which included a six goal mark against Occidental College.  She was also named to the All-SCIAC 1st Team.     

Marchetti led the Purple & Gold with 75 points (58 Goals | 17 assists).  She had a stellar .552 shooting percentage with 18 drawn exclusions and 17 steals.  On the season she totaled three or more goals on 11 occasions and added two or more assists four times.  Her breakout game on the season came against Caltech where she posted a six goal, two assist effort.  That week she was named one of the Swim Swam Players of the Week.  She too was also named 1st Team All-SCIAC.    

The ACWPC All-America teams are selected based on nominations and voting by the head coach of each program by National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division (Division I, II, III).

Since 2005, the mission of the ACWPC is to promote the development and advancement of collegiate water polo. This shall be accomplished by providing its membership with professional education, services, training and a united voice.
