Max is from Las Vegas and grew up playing for Team Vegas Water Polo Club. During his time with TeamVegas he was captain for five years and was a part of the National Team Pipeline from 2011-2014. Upon graduating high school he attended Long Beach City College where he played water polo both years under coaches Chris Oeding and David Kasa where he helped contribute to a State Runner-up finish his in 2014 season and a State Championship in 2015. During his time at LBCC he was 2nd Team All-SCC in 2014, and in 2015 he was 1st Team All-SCC, 2nd Team All-State and 2nd Team All-American. Max graduated from LBCC with an AA in Social Sciences. After Long Beach City College he transferred to the University of Redlands where he played under Head Coach Tom Whittimore in 2016 and 2017. During his last two seasons he was the leading scorer and team captain in 2016 and 2017. In 2016 he helped lead his team to a 3rd place finish in SCIAC Tournament, was 2nd Team All-SCIAC, and an Honorable Mention All-American. In 2017, he was 1st Team All-SCIAC and 2nd Team All-American. He graduated from the University of Redlands with a B.A. in Political Science.  

During his coaching career, he has coached for Team Vegas Water Polo for four years helping the 2016, 18 and under Women’s Team to a 13th place finish in Platinum at Junior Olympics. He most recently just finished coaching for Foothill Club Water Polo under Head Coach Alex Rodriguez and coached the 16 and under Boys White Team. During and after his playing career he has been on and off coaching with Viking Aquatics for 4 years.
